Telephone Contact

You will often see Internet companies describing themslves as a 'value' retailer whose whole business is geared towards delivering great products at even better prices, as efficiently as possible, which often means it is diffiucult to speak to them.

However, we know how frustrating it can be dealing with companies who dont advertise a phone number and want to be different.

So if you want to talk to some people who are passionate about bikes (and IT!) call us. Our number is 01367 888235, and you will be through to our warehouse in Oxfordshire.

International Orders

Dotbike are able to offer a worldwide service, with the exception of deliveries to the USA and Canada.

VAT (Value Added Tax)
All our prices include VAT at the prevailing UK rate, 17.5% on most items, 0% for helmets and childrens clothes.

We must include VAT for all items delivered to a UK or EU (European Union) address.

We are happy to deduct the VAT for deliveries outside the EU. This includes deliveries to the Bailiwick of Guernsey and States of Jersey, which are outside the European Union with respect to VAT.

To qualify for VAT-free shipping, it's the delivery address, not the cardholder address, or invoice address which must be outside the UK or EU. International residents shipping products to UK/EU addresses will be charged VAT.

Delivery Charges
Dotbike offers free delivery to the UK mainland. For all other destinations we will quote a delivery charge. We have found that small items can be sent via Royal Mail Airsure at reasonable rates, but larger items such as bikes, frames and wheels the delivery charges are prohibitive.

How do I proceed?
  1. Simply add the items you want to the basket, and place your order. VAT id deducted at this stage if applicable.
  2. Our system flags your order to our staff who will calculate the best delivery price.
  3. Your order is amended to show this charge, and we email you with he details.
  4. If you are happy with the price quoted and wish to proceed, then we ask you to retrurn to your order to complete payment processing.

Delivery to USA and Canada
We regret that we are no longer able to deliver to the USA and Canada. This is due to restrictions placed on us by our Insurers and some of our Suppliers.

Returns

Returns Policy
Every time you shop at dotbike we want you to be delighted with your purchase and the service. However sometimes things do go wrong. In these hopefully rare occasions we would ask that you get in touch with us by email at customerservice@dotbike.com at the very earliest opportunity when we will do our utmost to put things right as quickly as possible. Whatever the problem though, the important thing to do is get in contact with us.

We won't quibble about accepting items back, however we do ask for the following conditions to be met:

If you have changed your mind
If you have simply changed your mind about any item ordered and you wish to return it, then in line with the Distance Selling Regulations (DSR) you can do so provided you inform us of your decision within 10 days of receipt. The item must not be used and must be 'as new' when returned to us. Once you've informed us that you wish to return goods under the DSR, you have 28 calendar days to do so, at your own expense. Once the item is received at dotbike.com, we'll issue a full refund for the product to your original payment method.

Items Damaged in Transit
If any items were damaged in transit, we ask that you report it to us within 7 working days . If the items are visibly damaged on receipt, it's best to sign the carrier's delivery note accordingly. Items should be returned in their original packaging complete with all accessories and documentation. Once received back into our warehouse, we'll issue a replacement or full refund to you via your original payment method and for UK customers we will reimburse your reasonable return carriage costs.

Items Faulty on Arrival
If your items are faulty on arrival, you have 28 calendar days in which to inform us of the fault. Items should be returned in their original packaging complete with all accessories and documentation. Once we have verified the fault, we'll issue a replacement or full refund to you via your original payment method and for UK customers we will reimburse your reasonable return carriage costs. We test returned items, and if a returned item is found not to be faulty by our technicians we will return the item to you, in this instance you will be liable for the return carriage.

Items Faulty in Warranty Period
If any of your purchases develop a fault, and it's more than 28 calendar days since receipt, then provided your item is within its warranty period, you are entitled to a warranty repair. General wear and tear is not covered, nor is incorrect or inappropriate fitting and use. Please contact us and we will advise the way forward for your particular item.

Did we supply the wrong part?
Unfortunately we all make mistakes, and sometimes a manufacturers box doesnt contain what it says on the label. Let us know within 7 days and we will get a replacement to you, and for UK customers we will reimburse your reasonable return carriage costs.

International Orders
Please note that we are unable to reimburse carriage costs for international orders.

Need to return an item?
Simply email or phone us to get things underway.

None of the above affects your statutory rights.

Any disputes will be settled in accordance with English Law

Browser Support

We have made every effort to make this website accessible. The site has been coded using web standards (XHTML 1.0 & CSS level 2) and will therefore run correctly on all current and future browsers that fully support these standards.

Supported Browsers
Browsers that are currently supported are:
  • Google Chrome
  • Firefox 3 (and above) for PC and MAC
  • Safari (besides v1.0.3 - see below)
  • Internet Explorer 7 (and above)
  • Opera

Known Browser Issues
  • Firefox 1 and 2 have some issues with some CSS that we are now using. The site should still be functional for these browsers, but its just not so pretty especially during the checkout process!
Unsupported Browsers
There are, however, a number of browsers that are not supported. These browsers are:
  • Internet Explorer 5 for Mac - a browser that is now unsupported by Microsoft
  • Safari 1.0.3 - has problems with 128bit Encryption, therefore does not allow the access of secure areas (i.e. checkout, shopping basket, my account)
  • Internet Explorer 4 - old, unsupported browser - does not strictly support xhtml or css2
  • Netscape Navigator 4 - old, unsupported browser - does not strictly support xhtml or css2
In addition, we have seen problems with some later versions of Netscape Navigator that are not supporting 128-bit encryption.

Improve Text Readability in Firefox
Many users of Firefox on Windows do not have the correct Clear Type settings. To rectify:
  1. Right Click on your Windows desktop >> Properties >> Appearance >> Effects
  2. In the "Effects" window, there is a checkbox "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts:"
  3. Make sure this check box is ticked, and that Clear Type is selected in the drop down box.
  4. Click OK.
Thats it. You will notice a clear improvement in the way Firefox displays text (for all websites, not just Dotbike)
